Six institutions—Grayscale, ARK Invest & 21Shares, BlackRock, VanEck, Invesco & Galaxy, and Hashdex—have submitted applications for Ethereum spot ETFs.

On March 5, 2024, the SEC delayed its decision on BlackRock's Ethereum spot ETF application. According to the timeline, the SEC was expected to respond to these applications by the end of May.

On May 24, 2024, the SEC approved the first batch of Ethereum spot ETFs to be listed in the United States.
